Rev. Donté McCutchen

I'm incredibly thankful for the endorsement and support of Rev. Donté McCutchen, my dear friend and classmate from John Marshall High School. As a spiritual leader and community architect from Richmond, VA, Donté is dedicated to tackling social issues by utilizing theological principles. His service on the trustee board for Sophia Theological Seminary and the board of directors for the Historic Jackson Ward Association demonstrates his deep commitment to our community.

In his role as the Director of the Total Health and Life Services Department at Virginia Union University, Donté has gained a profound understanding of trauma healing and the impacts community violence can have on our kids, especially when it comes to academic outcomes. He knows that by supporting our students' well-being, we can help them succeed in the classroom and beyond.

Donté and I share a passion for grassroots organizations and the power of community work. We believe that by partnering with residents, community leaders and local groups, we can create solutions that truly meet the needs of our families. The beauty of community work is that we get to do this together, side by side, to build a brighter future for our kids.

We also share a love for music and its ability to inspire and uplift. We believe that music matters and it's important for our kids to have access to educational opportunities in the arts. By supporting our school music programs, we can help our students develop their creativity and find their voice.

Donté's endorsement means the world to me. His dedication to the children and families of Richmond aligns with my vision for our schools. As a school board member, I will advocate for initiatives that prioritize the health and wellness of our teachers, students, staff, and families. I will also fight for increased funding and the expansion of our fine arts department, because every child deserves access to a well-rounded education.

I'd be honored to earn your vote as well. Together, let's craft a brighter future for our kids.
